Portfolio of Evidence

Learners undertaking training towards NEBDN’s Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing (RQF), and NEBDN’s Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing (Integrated Apprenticeship) (RQF) are required to complete a work-based assessment portfolio called the Portfolio of Evidence (PoE). In NEBDN’s Post-Registration qualifications the work-based assessment portfolio is called a Record of Competence (RoC).

Included in the PoE/RoC are a number of tasks based on the role of a qualified Dental Nurse. Learners need to complete these tasks in the workplace whilst being observed by a GDC registrant who acts as a ‘Witness’.

The Witness Guidance Toolkit

If you, or any of your team is involved in assessing Learners in the workplace, you must follow the Witness Guidance Toolkit which is available from the accredited Providers we work with who then validate the PoE/RoC.
